IN A NEW LIGHT

PROBLEM:

Concrete ceilings prohibited the client from installing ceiling fixtures in this residence, forcing them to rely on floor and table lamps with cumbersome wiring and extension cords to illuminate the apartment.

SOLUTION:

THIS designed and installed a soffit around the perimeter of the rooms to house recessed light fixtures, creating beautiful ambient lighting throughout the residence with no visible wiring.

Problem:

Solar gain from the floor-to-ceiling windows made the residence uncomfortably warm at peak hours of the day. And given the size and number of windows in the apartment, shades with manual lift cords were unsuitable.

Solution:

As part of our soffit design, we allowed for space to place motorized roller shades and drapery tracks for a neat, beautiful finish. Now the homeowners can adjust the light coming through the windows in any room with the touch of a button on local wall switches or using the shades app on their smartphones.
